Eucharistic Ministers Print E-mail

Eucharistic Ministers are lay men and women of the parish whose role is to help the priest distribute the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass. Some Eucharistic Ministers also take the Eucharist to the homebound, in nursing/care centers, and in the hospital.

To be a Eucharistic Minister, an individual:  must be a practicing Catholic for at least one year; be at least 16 years old; be a Registered Member of St. Joseph Parish; and be physically able to stand for extended periods of time.  New Eucharistic Ministers are required to take training on the meaning of the Eucharist and the distribution procedures. The parish provides training periodically.
