Knights of Columbus Print E-mail

ImageThe Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal organization of more than a million and a half members nationwide. The Knights are devoted to the principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism.

The Council promotes worthy religious and social programs such as pro-life, clothing collections for the community's needy, financial support for the handicapped and workers for parish religious and social events. The Council also provides financial support of Catholic education. The Knights have an insurance program with the industry's highest financial security rating, offering coverage at the lowest rates obtainable. Catholic men 18 years of age and older are eligible for Knights of Columbus membership. Dues are $35 a year.

The Shawnee Council commemorated its 75th charter anniversary in 1996.
